Maundy Thursday: Agape (Love) Meal followed by Holy Communion and Foot-Washing

  • St Anne's Anglican Church 26 Highfields Road Highfields, Queensland 4352 (map)

A shared meal for our community, friends and neighbours (no cost). During the meal we’ll give thanks for the journeys that brought us to where we are today and hear from a member of the community about their own journey.

RSVP for catering, by 2 April: melissa@stjames.org.au

Stay on for Holy Communion in our beautiful church, which includes the symbolic memorial of Jesus washing his followers’ feet on the night before he died.

Our service concludes in silent prayer.

The word Maundy comes from a middle English word meaning command, and we use that word today to remind us that Jesus commanded that we should love, serve and care for one another.

Agape (aga-pay) is a Greek word for unconditional, self-giving love.
